Meutica ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at meutica.coand the Meutica platform (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account. We also record the role you select (student or teacher).
  • Uploaded Content. When you submit documents, images, presentations, text files, or other supported material for AI-powered question generation, the relevant content is processed by Meutica and may be transmitted to our AI service provider for generation. We process uploaded files in memory and do not permanently store the uploaded file contents on our application servers after processing is complete. We may retain metadata such as filename, file hash, and page count for service operation.
  • Pasted Text. If you paste text directly into the generator, we may store and process that text to provide question-generation functionality. Relevant content may also be transmitted to our AI service provider for processing.
  • Quiz Responses & Performance Data. Your answers, scores, timing data, confidence ratings, and session details when you take quizzes.
  • Feedback & Surveys. Information you voluntarily submit through feedback forms, discovery surveys, or interest forms (e.g., name, email, role, country).
  • Classroom Data. If you are a teacher, information about batches, tests, question banks, and student enrollments that you create.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Log & Device Data. We may collect standard server log information such as IP address (stored only as a one-way hash), browser type, operating system, referring URL, and timestamps.
  • Local Storage. We use browser local storage and session storage to maintain your authentication state, theme preferences, and guest identifiers. We do not use tracking cookies.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We receive your name, email address, and profile information from Google when you authenticate via Google OAuth through Firebase Authentication.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account;
  • Generate quiz questions from your uploaded or pasted content using AI;
  • Track and display your learning progress, analytics, and performance;
  • Enable teacher-student classroom features (batches, tests, reports);
  • Respond to your feedback and support requests;
  • Enforce our usage quotas and entitlements;
  • Improve and develop the Service;
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers. We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
    • Google Firebase — authentication and user profile storage;
    • Third-party AI service— AI-powered question generation and related content processing. Content that you submit for AI generation may be transmitted to our AI service provider for processing. Under our current provider's paid-service terms, prompts, submitted files, and generated responses are not used to improve the provider's products. The provider may maintain limited logs for safety, security, abuse prevention, and required legal or regulatory purposes;
    • Google Fonts — font delivery.
    These providers process information as necessary to provide services to Meutica and may operate under their own terms, privacy policies, and data-processing obligations.
  • Teachers & Classrooms.If you join a teacher's batch as a student, your name, email, quiz performance, and analytics may be visible to that teacher for educational purposes.
  • Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Meutica, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and associated data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Quiz response and performance data is retained to power your learning analytics. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at [email protected].

We process uploaded files in memory and do not retain them after question generation is complete. We may retain pasted text submitted for generation in our database.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Authentication via Google OAuth and Firebase (no passwords stored by us);
  • Where Meutica retains an IP-derived identifier in its application data, we use a salted, one-way hash rather than storing the raw IP address;
  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit;
  • Role-based access controls within the platform.

No transmission or storage method is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Guest Users

You may use certain features of the Service without creating an account. In this case, we store a randomly generated identifier in your browser's local storage. Guest usage data (quiz responses, session records) is associated with this identifier. Clearing your browser data will remove this identifier.

7. Children's Privacy

Meutica is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Users under 18 should use Meutica with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, consistent with our Terms of Service.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data;
  • Request portability of your data in a structured format;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. International Data Transfers

We may process and store your information in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (such as Google) operate. By using the Service, you consent to transferring your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for these third parties' privacy practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
